Bangladesh registered 41 more deaths from Covid-19 till 8am Monday, taking the total number of deaths to 26,972.
The country recorded 1,953 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 15,32,366, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday.
The death rate now stands at 1.76 percent in the country, added the release.
The current positivity rate stands at 7.69 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 16.53 percent.
Among the 41 deceased, 25 were men, and 16 were women. 14 each of the deceased were from Dhaka and Chattogram division, six from Khulna, three from Rajshahi, two from Mymensingh and one each from Sylhet and Barisal.
A total of 25,388 samples were tested across the country till 8am Monday.
During this period 4,112 Covid-19 patients have recovered. Up until now, a total of 14,82,933 people have recovered from the virus and the recovery rate stands at 96.77 percent.
As of Monday 4,646,295 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 225,591,089 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
