Local people caught four persons while they were snatching in early hours on Friday in Gognogor area on Dhaka-Munshiganj road under Sadar Model Police Station.
Sources claimed that a snatcher gang has been committing snatching every morning at the same spot.
On information, the locals were hiding near the snatching spot and when four snatchers swooped on a man then the locals caught all the four and beat up mercilessly.
Later, police rushed to the spot and rescued the injured snatchers and admitted them to Narayanganj general hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station Shahadat Hossain said that the captured are snatchers but their identity is yet to be unknown. Legal procedure would be taken, the OC added.
