Four people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a three-wheeler on the Thakurgaon-Baliadangi road.
The accident took place at Sonadanga on the Thakurgaon-Baliadangi road at on Tuesday night.
According to police and eyewitnesses, a passenger three-wheeler leaving Thakurgaon was heading towards Baliadangi upazila at around 8 pm while, it collided head on with a truck coming from the opposite direction.
Yakub Ali, 50, son of Uki Uddin of Badal Chanpur village under Dhamrai upazila of Naogaon and Banu, 35, wife of Majot Uddin of Lahiri Shaldanga village died on the spot while, Sadequl Islam, 35, son of Wahab Ali of Shukanipara village, died after being taken to Baliadangi Hospital.
Four people, including Shahidul Islam, 35, driver of the three-wheeler, were admitted to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital with serious injuries.
Later, driver Shahidul Islam died at Rangpur Medical College Hospital. He was a resident of Madhabpur village of the upazila.
The OC of the police station has not filed a case so far as the family members of the deceased refused to file a case. The bodies of the deceased have been taken away by their relatives. Baliadangi Police Station OC Hasibul Alam confirmed the incident.
