4 killed in Bogura lightning

Four people were killed in a lightning strike in Kahalu, Sariakandi, Shajahanpur and Dhunat upazilas of Bogura on Thursday afternoon. 3 more people were seriously injured in these incidents.

Sariakandi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Al Amin said a man named Lebu Mia, 32, was killed in a lightning strike at Kuripara Char on the Jamuna River in Sariakandi. While, a 55-year-old farmer named Mokleshar Rahman was killed at Eruil Bazar in Malcha union of  Kahalu upazila in Bogura. 3 people were seriously injured in this incident.

Dhunat Gopalnagar Union BNP member Abdus Salam was killed by lightning in the afternoon. Former upazila chairman Touhidul Alam Mamun confirmed the matter. Meanwhile, an agricultural worker was killed in a lightning strike at Haringari village in Kharna union of Shajahanpur upazila at the same time. Shajahanpur Police Station OC Azim Uddin confirmed the matter.
