Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 in a raid on Friday night arrested four kidnappers including a woman from Narsingdi district.
The arrestees were identified as Md. Avit Mia, 28, Md. Pappu Mia, 28, Md. Badal Mia, 58, and Maria Akter Monti, 23, residents of Narsingdi sadar upazila.
Additional Superintendent of Police and media officer of RAB-11 Alep Uddin in a press briefing claimed that an abductee named Russel who escaped from the kidnappers trap filed a complained to RAB-11 on February 20.
Based on the complaint RAB-11 conducted a raid at different areas in Narsingdi and arrested those four abductors.
Russel complained to the RAB stated that he was abducted on December 28 of 2019 from in front of Narsingdi Court premises.
He was detained in a room of a flat and tortured severely for a ransom of Tk ten lakh. However, Russel managed to escape from the kidnapper’s microbus when they took him out later. A criminal case was recorded with Narsingdi sadar police station in this regard.
