Shailkupa police have arrested four young men for their suspected involvement in killing Islamic University (IU) student Ulfat Ara Tinni.
The arrestees were Amirul Islam, 40, son of Kanar Uddin and three so-ns of Khalil Sheikh namely Labib Hossain, 28, Naim Hossain, 19, and Tanmoy Hossain, 17. Prime suspected in the killing incident Jamirul was absconding, officer in charge (OC) Investigation of Shailkupa police station Mohsin Hossain confirmed the arrest.
They were arrested from different areas of Shailkupa and Kushtia, said the police in Shailkupa police station. Protesting the killing inciddent, hundreds of students of the university formed human chain at the campus demanding punishments to the killer at no delay.
The police said Tinnis mother Halima Khatun had filed a case with Shailkupa police staion on Friday night against a number of named and unnamed persons under women and child repression act.
Mention may be made that IU Accounts department meritorious student Ulfat Ara Tinni was killed on Thursday night by a gang of miscreants. She waa the youngest daughter of late freedom fighter Yusuf Ali of Sheikhpara village in Shailkupa upazila in Jhenidah.
