4 get life in madrasa student murder case in Lakshmipur

District and Sessions Judge's Court has sentenced four people, including a woman, to life imprisonment in a case of attempted rape and murder of Madrasa student Rozina, 15, of Laxmipur Raipur. 

At the same time, the judge sentenced the accused to one more year imprisonment for non-payment of fine of Tk 10,000 each. District and Sessions Judge Md. Rahibul Islam passed the verdict against the accused around 11:15 am on Wednesday. 

Testimony of 12 witnesses was taken against the accused. Among the accused, Bahar Prakash's son-in-law Bahar's house is in Bamni of the same upazila Raipur and the other three accused's house is in Denayetpur village. Among the four convicts present in the court were Anwar Hossain, Prakash Al Alamin, Prakash Koyla, Prakash Kaila and Ankhi Akter Prakash Ruma. Among the convicts are two other fugitives, Humayun Kabir and Md. Bahar Prakash's son-in-law Bahar. PP ad of the court. Jashim Uddin has confirmed the matter. It may be mentioned that Rozina, a 9th class madrasa student, went to Mirganj Khadijatul Kobra Madrasa on 11th December 2016 at noon to study. After much searching, the next day, on the afternoon of December 12, 2016, the police were informed that Rozina's dead body was lying inside the boundary of the old municipality. The accused, led by Koila, took Rozina off the road in an attempt to rape her.

Attempted rape failed and at one stage the accused killed her. Later, four of them were accused and a murder case was filed at the police station. Later, on June 26, 2016, Raipur Police Station OC Investigation Solaiman filed a charge sheet against the four accused. On the other hand, the lawyer of the accused Abdul Ahad Shakil, Ad Bobby Akhter said, they are satisfied with the verdict. If they get a copy of the verdict, they will go to the high court.
