A dead Irrawaddy dolphin measuring 4 feet in length and 1.5 feet in width was found on Kuakata beach in Patuakhali. .
On Sunday afternoon, the dolphin floated in the estuary of the three rivers near Lembu Char on the beach. Later, when the locals informed the members of the Dolphin Protection Committee, they reached the spot and tried to unravel the mystery of its death.
The members of the Dolphin Protection Committee said that it is not possible to say for sure how the dolphin died. But it has injury marks on its tail and neck.
Ranch Abul Kalam of Mahipur Forest Department said that forest workers have been sent to the spot. The dolphin is in the process of sandblasting.
