382 more homeless families get houses in Bandarban

Another 382 homeless and landless families received houses with lands in the second stage of the fifth phase under the 'Ashrayan-2' project in Bandarban on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the programme of house handover through a video conference at the Upazila auditorium in the district. After the inauguration, Bandarband Deputy Commissioner Shah Mujahid Uddin, Bandarban Municipality Mayor Md Shamsul Islam, Member of Bandarban Zilla Parishad and General Secretary of Bandarban District Awami League Lakkhipad Das, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Umme Habiba Mira, Chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad Abdul Kuddus, Female Vice-Chairman Mehainu Marma and Vice-Chairman Mohammad Faruk Ahmed handed over the houses among 46 beneficiaries of Bandarban Sadar Upazila.

According to the District Administration, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through a video conference handed over 382 houses with land to homeless and landless families in 7 Upazilas of Bandarban in the second stage of the 5th phase under the 'Ashrayan-2' project. Among them, there are 203 semi-pucca houses and 179 Machang houses.

Earlier, 2,134 houses in the 1st phase, 564 houses in the 2nd phase, 295 houses in the 3rd phase, 884 houses in the 4th phase and 414 houses in the first stage of the 5th phase were handed over among 

the beneficiaries of Bandarban hill district.
