35 madrasas get PM’s gift in Rajshahi

A total of 35 madrasas get gifts from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the purpose of expediting their academic activities. Rajshahi Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton disbursed 64 tonnes of rice as Prime Minister's gift at the city bhaban conference hall on Wednesday as the chief guest.

 Speaking on the occasion, the mayor said that the present government has been elevating every development sector to work for the welfare of Imam, Alem and Ulema. He said the government has attained significant success in education and ICT sectors and urged the madrasha authorities to supplement the efforts of the government to build digital Bangladesh.

 Mayor Liton also told the meeting that all the madrasas in the city will be brought under government support in phases. With Chief Executive Officer Dr Sharif Uddin in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by President of Rajshahi Ulema Welfare Council Mawlana Abdul Gani and its adviser Shahidul Islam.
