A total of 32 candidates have submitted nomination papers to contest the elections to three upazilas of the district.
Polls in Nababganj, Parbatipur and Phulbari upazilas of Dinajpur will be held on June 5 in the 4th phase of the Upazila Parishad elections and Thursday was the last day for submitting nomination papers.
Of the candidates, 11 want to vie for the post of chairman while 12 for the post of vice-chairman and nine for the post of woman vice-chairman in the three upazilas.
The nomination papers will be scrutinised on May 12 while the last date for withdrawal of candidacy is May 19. Poll symbols will be allocated to the candidates on May 20.
Elections to Birampur, Hakimpur and Ghoraghat upazilas of the district were held on May 8 in the first phase of upazila parishad polls while Biral, Bochaganj, Birganj and Kaharol upazilas will go to polls on May 21 in the second phase of upazila elections. The elections to Dinajpur (Sadar), Khansama and Chirirbandar upazilas will take place on May 29 in the 3rd phase.
