A group of fishermen caught a giant Katla fish with fishing net in the Char Karneshna area of Padma river in Goalandaupazila of Rajbari on Monday at around 1am.
It is a giant sized Katla fish, weighing 30 kg. The price of per kg costs 1400 taka, Thus, the price of the whole fish is Taka 42,000.
Fisherman Harun Sheikh said, "Six more fishermen alongside me caught the fish. When the fish was trapped in the fishing net, we immediately realised it was a big fish.
I have sold the fish to Chandu Mollah, a trader from Daulatdia Ghat, for Tk 1,050 per kg. Fish trader Chandu Mollah said, "I bought the fish, now I will sell it at Tk 1,400 per kg."
