30,000 people in home quarantine in B’baria

At least 30,000 people in seven villages of Brahmanbaria are inhome quarantine. They are not leaving the house without any urgent need. Businesses and shops in those areas are closed. 

Several streets of the villages have been closed with barricades. Law enforcement agencies havestrengthened their presence on every road neighbourhoods of those villages. 

From Sunday, at least 30,000 people from seven villages alongside Bertola, Boroibari, Sitaharan, and Shantinagar are in home quarantine. Amid the coronavirus crisis, tens of thousands of people attended the funeral of Maulana Junaid Ahmed Ansari last Saturday.Immediately afterwards, the administration ordered the residents of four villages and other villages near them to be in home quarantine.

The lockdown was tightened. Upazila Executive Officer said a committee has been formed under the leadership of members of each village. Without any medical emergencies, people in quarantinecannot leave their homes. 

For any necessary purchases theyshould contact with the committee which is headed by the village representatives. People will have to pay their bills to them after the purchase. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s gift items have also been provided to the families who are in home quarantine.
