A three-year old girl was brutally killed by a tenant at Kotchandpur town of Jhenaidah in the evening on Tuesday. The baby was chopped to death. The ill-fated girl was identified as Jannatul Ferdous, daughter of Takku Mia of Kotchandpur.
Jannatul’s elder brother Yousuf said that he returned home in the evening. At the time, her mother saw the injured child was lying on the floor of the house rented by Dulal Mia. She was rescued and taken to Kotchandpur Upazila Health Complex where she succumbed to her injuries.
Jannatul’s mother Khairun Nessa said that Dulal had killed her daughter, while she could not know why Dulal had killed the baby. Dulal, probably belongs to Rajbari district, was running the trade of old clothing at Kotchandpur town for past few months.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotchandpur Police Station Mahbubul Alam said that they visited the hospital. Her belly was cut and one of her wrist was almost severed with sharp weapons. A number of injury marks were seen on various parts of the baby.
They filed a case and sent the body to Jhenidah Sadar hospital morgue for post mortem. Police has been conducting drives to nab the alleged killer Dulal.
