Two motorcycle riders died and another was injured as a train hit their motorcycle in a rail level crossing in Kalihati Upazila of the district Friday.
Local people said the accident occurred this afternoon in Hatiya rail level crossing. The two people died on the spot. The injured was sent to Tangail General Hospital.
Akbar Hossain, Sub-inspector (SI) of Tangail Rail Station police, said the deceased could not be known immediately.
Another reports adds: A motorcyclist was killed and another injured in a road accident when his motorcycle crashed into a road side tree in front of Darbarchar Jame Masjid in Narayankhola Bazar under Nakla Upazila of the district Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Monirul Islam, resident of Kazaikata village of the upazila.
The accident occurred, while they were going to Narayankhola Bazar from Kazaikata village on a motorcycle. On the way, the motorcycle lost control and crashed into a roadside tree in the area around 1am leaving Monirul Islam dead on the spot and another injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Nakla Police Station Abdul Quader said.
The injured was taken to Nakla Upazila Health Complex.
Later, he was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for better treatment, the OC said.A general diary was lodged with Nakla Police Station in this connection.
