Three youths were killed as a truck rammed a motorbike on the Sylhet-Zakiganj highway at Barothakuri village under Zakiganj upazila of the district last night.
The deceased were identified as Delwar Hossain, 36, a businessman of Kaliganj market and son of late Abdul Shukur of Barothakuri village under Zakiganj upazila, Redwan Hossain, 26, personal assistant of Zakiganj upazila chairman and son of Saad Uddin of the same village; and Monjur Hossen, 24, a businessman of Sonasar Bazar of the upazila.
The accident took place in the area when a speedy truck hit their motorbike, leaving three bike riders injured critically, said M Jabed Masud, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Zakiganj Police Station.
They were returning home from Sonasar bazaar at night.
