Three people, including a women and her son, were killed and 15 others passengers were injured when a passenger bus lost control and collided with a tree on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Manikganj
The accident took place at around 2.00 pm on Wednesday at Muljan Pallividyut area of Sadar upazila in Manikganj district.
Two deceased were identified and they are Hafizur Rahman (35) and his mother Hasema Begum (55) of Nishchintpur village under Daptiyar union in Nagarpur upazila of Tangail district. Manikganj Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rauf Sarkar confirmed the accident.
According to police and eyewitness sources, a minibus of New Village Line Transport (Tangail-J11-0011) was heading towards Dhaka from Dhubaria area of Nagarpur upazila of Tangail.
When the bus reached Muljan area of Dhaka-Aricha highway, it lost control and skidded on the road and collided with a tree.
