3 killed in Bogura accident

At  least Three passengers, including a child, of an auto-rickshaw were killed and three others injured as a bus rammed the three-wheeler at Sherpur upazila of Bogura on Sunday.

The accident took place on the Bogura-Dhaka Highway at Dhankundi area of the upazila at about 1:00 pm.

The deceased were identified as nine-year-old Shah Sultan, son of Golam Mostafa from Ghasuria village of the upazila, auto-rickshaw driver Al Amin, 28, son of Ichahaq Ali of Chakpahari village and Abdul Hai, 60.

Roton Hossain, station officer of Sherpur upazila Fire Service and Civil Defense, said, “Three passengers including the driver of the auto-rickshaw died on the spot and three others were injured.” 

The injured were sent to Bogura Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital.

Of them, the condition of a women, Anwara Begum, is critical, he said.

Sherpur highway police outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector (SI) Ashraful Islam said that the bus was seized following the accident but the driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
