3 hurt as drug traders clash in Jibannagar

A fight broke out between two drug trafficking groups in Chuadanga over the theft of ganja (narcotic). Three youths from both sides were injured by sharp weapons. The incident took place in Satgari village of Chuadanga Municipal area on Saturday noon. 

The injured are Naeem (25) and Nayan (23) two sons of Abdur Razzak of Satgari village and Biplab Hossain (21) son of Monir of the same village.

According to the locals, someone hides ganja in the corn field of the land next to the house of a drug dealer in Satgari village. Someone stole the ganja from there and gave it to Naeem.

 When the matter became known in the area, there was a conflict between Naeem and the drug dealer Biplab Hossain. At one point, both sides clashed over indigenous weapons. Naeem and his younger brother Nayan and Biplab on the other side got bloody injuries due to sharp weapons. Later, the locals rescued the three and admitted them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.

Chuadanga Sadar Hospital emergency department doctor Wahid Mahmud Rabin said that three people were injured by sharp weapons in different parts of their bodies.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station Indrajit Roy said, initially I have come to know that there was a fight over drugs. Legal action will be taken subject to investigation if complaints are received.
