Detective Branch (DB) of police in a drive arrested three drug peddlers with two thousand pieces of yaba pills and cash one crore twenty five lakh taka from their possessions at Rosulpur area of Rupganj upazila in the early hours on Wednesday.
The arrestees were identified as Jamal Mridha and his two associates Mostofa and Manik.
A sub-inspector of DB police Mizanur Rahman told the Bangladesh Post that they were earlier informed that consignment of yaba pills will reach Jamal Mridha house on Wednesday early hours.
According to the information, police was hideout and later conducted raid at Jamal Mridha’s house at second floor of the building and seized two thousands pieces of yaba pills and cash one crore twenty five lakh taka.
Police super Harunar Rashid visited the spot and said that three criminal cases will be filed against Jamal Mridha and his associates.
