3 held with arms in Ctg

Rapid Action Battalion members detained two drug dealers with 19,500 pieces of Yaba pills and an armed terrorist with two one-shooter guns, a pipe gun and two rounds of ammunition conducting separate raids in Bakalia and Bayezid areas in Chattogram city.

Separate press release sent to the media by RAB on Monday confirmed the news. According to RAB, these operations were carried out on Sunday night.

The three arrestees are identified as Md. Altaz Hossain (32) son of Abdus Salam of Dargapara area of Cox's Bazar Sadar upazila, Md. Badsha Mia (22) son of Md. Shukkur Miah and Md. Sohrab Hossain Sohel Prakash Saurav (22) son of Md. Abu Sufian of Musapur area of Sandwip upazila of Chattogram.

Among them Md. Altaz Hossain and Md. Badshah Mia were arrested with 19,500 pieces of Yaba pills from in front of Rajakhali Jamjam Ice Factory under Bakalia Police Station while Md. Sohrab Hossain Sohel Prakash Sourav was arrested with two one-shooter guns, a pipe gun and two rounds of ammunition from Arefin Nagar area under Bayezid Police Station.

RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) Md Mahmudul Hasan Mamun told Bangladesh Post that the detainees have been handed over to Bakalia and Bayezid police stations. He added that Md. Altaz Hossain and Md. Badsha Mia were transporting Yaba pills in a microbus from Cox's Bazar for selling in Chittagong city.

He also said the operation in Arefin Nagar was carried out after receiving information about the location of weapons in Arefin Nagar area. There are seven cases filed against terrorist Sohrab Hossain in Sitakunda and Bayezid police stations.
