The members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-1 arrested three drug peddlers with huge amount contraband phensedyle, conducting a raid at Somu market area under Rupganj police station on Tuesday night.
RAB men recovered a private car, 1,464 bottles of phensedyl, cash 5,900 taka, five mobile phone set and 32 SIM cards from the arrestee’s possession. Major Mehedi Hasan, commanding officer of crime prevention special company-3 of RAB-1 confirmed the matter before media.
Arrestees were identified as Jalal Sikder, 50, son of Sona Mia Sikder, of Chuadanga, Babu, 28, son of Arshad, resident of same area and Shahabuddin, 42, son of Shajahan, resident of Shariatpur. A criminal case was filed with Rupganj police station under narcotics control act.
