In Jajira upazila of Shariatpur, some village arbitrators dismissed a violation case by awarding the accused with only 20 shoe slaps recently. In this incident, police arrested a UP member, an arbitrator and the person who recorded the video of the violation.
The arrestees were identified as Jasim Uddin Sardar, 38, Moksed Madbar, 50, and Nayan Moral, 24, of Charlaukhola Baliakandi village under Mulna union of the upazila.
Superintendent of Police (SP) SM Ashrafuzzaman told a press briefing at the conference room of the Shariatpur SP office on Thursday afternoon that police arrested them on Wednesday night. Police are trying to arrest the violator Dudu Mia Khan after the housewife filed a case with Jajira police station.
Dudu Mia entered the house of the victim in the absence of her husband on the night of February 8 and violated her. At that time, local Nayan Moral recorded the video of the violation.
To cover up the incident, local arbitrators held a local court-arbitration on February 9 at the home of local Mokshed Madbar in the absence of the victim's family.
