Three people were detained on charge of acid threw on a housewife at Bahirgram village under sadar uazila in Narail on Tuesday.
The detainees are Jewel, son of the late Mostafa and his associate Ohidur Rahman resident of Bahirgram village under sadar uazila in Narail.
Police and victim relative sources said, housewife Tania Begum (27) daughter of Golap Mollah was unjured for thrown acid in Bahirgram for money issue at Monday night.
Acid-burned Tania's family sources, Jewel, son of the late Mostafa, a neighbour of Tania’s, borrowed Tk 15 lakh from Tania to run a business a year ago. When Tania wanted her money back, Jewel started making excuses and threatening to kill Tania with acid at different times.
Due to lack of security, Tania filed a GD (general diary) with Narail Sadar Police Station on August 13 and moved to her husband Masud Hasan's house in Shankar Pasha of Jashore. On Monday night,Tania came to her father's house to talk about resolving the issue through local village arbitration.
That night Tania fled from her father's house to her uncle's house next door to show a copy of the general diary, throwing acid on debtor Jewel and her accomplice Ohidur on Tania and fled.
Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Narail Sadar Hospital Dr Mashiur Rahman Babu said Tania who was burnt by acid was admitted in Narail Sadar Hospital. Tania's back and various parts of her body were burnt.
Narail Superintendent of Police Md Jasim Uddin said three people, including Jewel and his accomplice Ohidur had been detained for questioning on charges of throwing acid on housewife Tania. Preparations are underway to file a case in this regard.
