A mobile court fined Tk 1.8 lakh to the owners of three factories in Lalpur of Natore, for making adulterated molasses on Thursday evening.
The owners were fined during a mobile court court drive in Balitita Islampur area of Lalpur upazila.
Sources said that on the basis of secret information, RAB members led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Ummul Banin Dyuti along with Company Commander of RAB-5, CPC-2 ASP Md. Rajibul Ahsan conducted an operation in Balitita Islampur area of the upazila.
Md. Abu Hasan, 25, Sagar, 27, and Mizanur Rahman were detained for making adulterated molasses at the time.
When the detainees were later produced before the mobile court judge, UNO Ummul Banin Dyuti, Abu Hasan was fined Tk 1 lakh, Sagar Tk 50,000 and Mizanur Rahman Tk 30,000.
At this time the equipment for making adulterated molasses were destroyed.
