Police arrested three drug peddlers from Gopalnagar area of ward-3 under Jibannagar in Chuadanga on Saturday morning.
The arrested were identified as Nazmul Islam (40) son of late Hasan Mondal and Sumon Mia son of Bokul Mondal of Gopalnagar village under Jibonnagar Municipality and Ashraful Islam (42) son of Baker Ali Mondal of Sarkerpara of Narayanpur village.
They were produced before the Mobile Court where the arrested persons admitted their guilt. Jibonnagar Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate of the Mobile Court Alamin Hossain awarded the addicts seven days of non-rigorous punishment and fined them Tk 100. Three convicted persons were sent to Chuadanga District Jail.
