3-day training on investigative reporting ends

A three-day long training programme on ‘Investigative Reporting’ for Chuadanga journalists was held at Chuadanga Circuit House under the auspices of Press Institute Bangladesh. The programme started on October 9 and ended October 11. 

The training programme was inaugurated by Nazrul Islam Sarker, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chuadanga.  The inaugural session was presided over by Zafar Wazed, DG of PIB where Obaidur Rahaman Chowdhury Jipu, Mayor of Chuadanga Pourasabha, spoke as special guest. It was addressed by Dr Firoj Ahmmed, Chairman of Micro-biology Department of Noackhali Science and Technology University, Mohammad Shah Alam, Trainer of PIB and Sarder Al Amin, President of Chuadanga Press Club.

Dr. Firoj Ahmmed, Julfikar Ali Manik, Planning  Advisor of Boishakhi  TV, Dr Prodip Kumar Pande, a professor at Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Dhaka University, and Mohammad Shah Alam conducted the sessions as facilitators.  

Jahidul Islam, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Chuadanga, was present as chief guest at the concluding session on October 11. The function was presided over by Sarder Al Amin, President of Chuadanga Press Club. 

A total of 30 journalists of different printing and electronics media joined at the training programme. Jahidul Islam handed over certificates among the participants.
