3 Covid deaths in 24 hrs

Bangladesh registered three more deaths from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am Tuesday, taking the total number of deaths to 27,873.

The country recorded 229 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of infected people to 1,569,982, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday.

The infection rate now stands at 1.14 percent against 20,031 test, added the release. The positivity rate has been below two percent over the last few weeks. Experts say Covid-19 situation is considered to be fully under control for the consecutive infection rate success.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh reported two deaths and 214 cases in the previous day.

Among the three deceased, two died in Dhaka and one in Chattogram divisions.

During this period 211 Covid-19 patients have recovered. Up until now, a total of 1,533,836 people have recovered from the virus and the recovery rate stands at 97.70 percent.  

As of Tuesday 5,023,888 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 247,989,886 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
