A baby girl named Babli Akhter, 6, died being hit by an Auto Charger while two sisters named Fahima, 3, and Farzana, 4, drowned in a pond at Haripur upazila of Thakurgaon on Monday evening.
The deceased Babli was the daughter of Babul Hossain of Tuladighi village under Bakua union in Haripur upazila.
Locals said that Babli Akhter was playing on the side of the road next to her house while an Auto Charger hit her. She died on the way to Haripur Hospital being severely injured.
Deceased sisters Fahima and Farzana were daughters of Faruk Hossain of Barampur-Pirhat village under Bakua union in Haripur upazila.
Fahima and Farzana's father Farooq Hossain said, my two young daughters were playing in the yard and fell into the pond next to our house when none were looking. The bodies of my daughters were later recovered from the pond after searching.
Chairman of Local Union Parishad Abul Kashem Barsha confirmed the news of both the incidents. He expressed deep shock at the death of three children. He conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
