3 Bangladeshi films in prestigious Busan festival for the first time

‘No Ground Beneath the Feat’, a film by young Bangladeshi filmmaker Mohammad Rabbi Mridha, has been selected for the Busan International Film Festival, Asia's largest film festival held every year in Busan, South Korea. Apart from this, two more Bangladeshi movies will be screened at the festival.

26th festival is being held this year and three Bangladeshi movies will be shown simultaneously for the first time in history. Therefore, the festival's website has praised the importance. 

Although Bangladeshi movies have been screened here for so long, three Bangladeshi movies have been selected at a time this year.

Abdullah Mohammad Saad's 'Rehana Mariam Noor', Mostafa Sorayar Farooqi's 'No Lands Man', and young Bangladeshi filmmaker Mohammad Rabbi Mridha's ‘No Ground Beneath the Feat’ will be screened. Among these, Abdullah Mohammad Saad's 'Rehana Mariam Noor' has been screened in the Cannes festival this year and gathered much applause.

Producer Abu Shahed Emon has produced the movie ‘No Ground Beneath the Feat’. The film is co-produced by Impress Telefilm Limited and Batayan Productions. Mir Mokarram Hossain is the executive producer and Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Impress Telefilm and Tahrima Khan of Batayan Productions are the co-producers.

The film stars Mostafa Monwar, Priyam Archie, Dipanbita Martin and a bunch of talented artists and crew.

The protagonist of this story is an ordinary man named ‘Saiful’, who has to go through various conflicts with his two wives, family, work, morality and sociality.

The Busan International Film Festival, considered to be the largest film festival in Asia has been held in South Korea every year for the last 26 years with films from new Asian filmmakers and films from other countries.

Held in collaboration with the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by Busan City and the Korean Film Council, the festival has already become an important event in the calendar of the International Film Festival.

Like every year, the festival is going to be held in October. Due to Corona, the festival was held online last year, but this year the event will run from October 6 to October 15.
