3 Bandarban UZs locked down

Bandarban district administration has locked down three upazilas in Bandarban Hill District. The upazilas are Lama, Alikadam and Naikhyangchhari upazilas of the district. 

Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Shamim Hossain confirmed the matter. He said three upazilas of Bandarban district were locked down as a coronavirus patient was found adjacent Cox's Bazar district.

Meanwhile, army men are working in Bandarban to prevent the transmission of the coronavirus. Army members have been alerting people by distributing leaflets and micking beside patrolling from Tuesday. The city of Bandarban is now vacant because of the Coronavirus. A limited number of vehicles have been seen plying on the roads.

On the other hand, 300 volunteers have been trained by health department doctors at the initiative of Bandarban Zilla Parishad to prevent corona in the district on Tuesday afternoon. Spray, gloves, jackets and other equipments were distributed among them. Bandarban Zilla Parishad Chairman Kya Shoi Hla distributed these among the volunteers at the Zila Parishad auditorium. 

The health department informed that so far 50 people have been put in quarantine in Bandarban. Of them, 9 are kept at hospital and 41 are in home quarantine. Expatriates coming from overseas are being monitored in the district.
