3 arrested with crystal meth drug

Police arrested three people with 80 grams of ice (crystal meth) and 5,000 yaba in front of Brijghat Hotel Naval Residential under Kotwali Police Station in the city.

 Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) of Chittagong Metropolitan Intelligence (North) Division Mohammad Salam Kabir said this at a press conference on Thursday.

 The arrested are Md Jalal Ahmed (43), Md. Farooq (30), Md Talal (35).

 Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohammad Salam Kabir said the operation was carried out at around 7 pm on Wednesday and 80 grams of ice (crystal meth) with a market value of around Rs 8 lakh was recovered.

These granules containing methamphetamine were recovered from Md. Jalal Ahammed in 1 white airtight polythene bag wrapped in paper.  At that time 5 thousand pieces of yaba were recovered from Md Farooq and Md Talal.

 The yaba was collected from an unidentified person in Anwara police station area.  

Regular cases have been filed against the arrested persons at Kotwali police station.

 Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB-North) Arafatul Islam and Assistant Commissioner of Police (DB-North) Mohammad Arif Hossain, Inspector of Police (Unarmed) Mohammad Moinur Rahman and other police officials were present at the press conference.
