Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested three people from the capital’s Paltan area early Saturday in connection with arson attacks on November 12.

The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Azad, 28, Md Leon Haque, 30, and Kazi Rezaul Haque Babu alias Jim Babu, 28.

According to the DMP press release, the three arrestees, who were involved in the attacks, were identified after obtaining information from eyewitnesses and scrutinising video footage of electronic media reporters.

Getting secret information, a team of the DB arrested them from the area.

Earlier on 12 November, eleven vehicles were torched in different parts of the capital including Motijheel and Paltan areas.

Sixteen cases were filed in different police stations of the capital in this connection.

Police alleged that some leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), Jubo Dal and Swechchhasebak Dal staged a procession in front of the Naya Paltan BNP party office on November 12.

Some activists and leaders coming from the procession set fire on buses.
