3 accused placed on 3-day police remand

The arrested three accused of a journalist murder case are under three days police remand for questioning to unearth the motive behind the killing.

Bandar thana police on Monday noon produced three arrested accused Tushar, 28, mina, 60 and Misir ali, 53, before the senior judicial magistrate Nurunnahar Yasmin’s court seeking seven days police remand.

After hearing from the both parties the court granted three days remand, court inspector Asaduzzaman asserted.

On Sunday night, journalist Md. Ilias of local Bengali Daily Bijoy was hacked to death by the criminal gang at Geodhara area of Bandar upazila.

After the incident widow Julekha Begum filed a muder case with Bandar police station accusing 8 persons named Tushar, 28, Mina, 60, Misir Ali, 53, Turjo, 24, Masud, 36, Sagor, 26, Pavel, 25 and Hazrat Ali, 50.

The case investigation officer, Md. Asgar Ali claimed that the arrested accused apparently admitted that they were angry with the journalist due to publishing several reports against them mentioning drug dealers, illegal gas connection syndicates and other criminal activities.

Officer in charge of Bandar police station Fakruddin Bhuiya told that all the accused will be captured very soon.
