Upazila Agricultural Office in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila had distributed Boro seeds among 3,150 farmers to increase the yield of the hybrid rice in current season. The seeds were distributed in a simple ceremony at Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila Parishad premises on Thursday.
Upazila Parishad Chairman Rashidur Rahman Rasel, UNO, Razia Akter Chowdhury, Upazila Agricultural Officer (UAO) Nur –E- Nabi, Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO) Junayed Habib, Mir Raqibul Islam among other officials remain present during the time.
The guests during distribution of the Boro seeds said the government has been allocating seeds, fertilizer, others costs among the farmers to expand the area of farming and increase the yield as much as possible as well. It will help attain self sufficiency in food production and ensure nutrition for all. It will also help strengthen the socio and economic sate of the farmers involved in farming throughout the country.
Upazila agricultural office sources said, the department had sanctioned two kilograms of hybrid Boro seeds for each of 3,150 farmers in Jhenaidah sadar upazila in the current season.
