In the second phase, 30,600 Vial Covid-19 vaccines of 3 lakh 6 thousand doses arrived in Chittagong. Each vial vaccine will be given to 10 people.
The vaccines arrived at Beximco Pharmaceuticals' freezer van at the Civil Surgeon's Office on Friday morning. Acting District Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Asif Khan along with Chittagong Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Hasan ShahriarKabir took them.
Each carton of vaccine is then stored in a walk-in-cooler (WIC) at the Civil Surgeon's Office at a temperature of 2 to 8 degrees Celsius.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Md. Jahangir on behalf of the District Superintendent of Police, Executive Magistrate Mizanur Rahman on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Director of Drug Administration Hossain Mohammad Imran, District EPI Superintendent Md. The vaccine was supervised by Dr. Md. NurulHaider, Medical Officer (Disease Control) of the Civil Surgeon's Office, SumonDebnath, Senior Health Education Officer, SujanBarua, District Health Supervisor, KajalKanti Pal, District EPI Technologist. Acting District Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Asif Khan said, “We have received 3 lakh 6 thousand doses of Covid-19 vaccine in the second phase as a gift from Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for Chittagong. As per the instructions of the government, vaccination activities will be conducted in urban areas at the city corporation and upazila level under the supervision of UNO.
According to the registration calculations, vaccines will be supplied from EPI stores to city corporation and upazila level as per the demand. The Covid-19 vaccine obtained at the EPI branch of the Civil Surgeon's Office is carefully stored in a walk-in cooler (WIC).
