The Chhaya United Nations conference is going to be organized for the second time at Comilla University (CoU). The conference started on May 16 and end on May 18. This was confirmed by Raihan Ahmed Abir, president of the CoU Chaya United Nations Organization.
This time the committees of the conference are: Security Council, United Nations General Assembly-1, United Nations General Assembly-2, United Nations General Assembly-4, United Nations Human Rights Commission, Bangladesh National Parliament, International News Agency, United Nations Organization on Drugs and
Crime, and United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Raihan Ahmed Abir as the Secretary General of the Chaya United Nations Conference; Deputy Secretary General Md. Naimur Rahman Bhuiyan; Rizban Fahim; and Mainuddin Bhuiyan Tanveer as the Director General. Also, about half a hundred students will serve as organizers for the conference.
Secretary General Raihan Ahmed Abir said that this time we are calling peace the main theme of the conference. In today's world, various wars are destroying the peace between people. When peace, human rights, and justice are simultaneously established in the world, only then will the motto of the United Nations be realized.
Deputy Secretary General Md. Naimur Rahman Bhuiyan said, "We think that world peace should be established through diplomacy and not war. That is why our motto is "Diplomacy for Peace," which is very necessary in today's world. The Comilla University Shadow UN Conference will discuss those issues and seek solutions through peace diplomacy."
Director General Rizban Fahim said that the Comilla University Chaya United Nations Organization, since its inception, has been working to enhance students' diplomatic skills, knowledge of international affairs, and public speaking skills.
In this conference, we are hopeful that representatives from various universities in the country and outside the country will develop themselves.
Earlier in 2018, the 1st Shadow United Nations Conference was held at Comilla University.
I also organized two national conferences named 'Game of Diplomacy' in 2019 and 2022.
