26 FFs receive houses from govt in Moheshpur

At last the long cherished desire of the heroic freedom fighters for their own houses came to reality when they had received the deeds and documents of the houses Bir Nibash.

The houses were handed over to 26 heroic freedom fighters in Moheshpur in a simple ceremony at Upazila Parishad conference room of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) on Wednesday morning. Earlier Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had inaugurated handing over ceremony of the Bir Nibash virtually countrywide.

Presided over by UNO Nayan Kumar Rajbangshi, Awami League Moheshpur upazila unit president Sazzadul Islam, upazila vice chairman Azizul Haque Aza, upazila project implementation officer (UPIO) Meherunnessa, wartime sector commander of the freedom fighting in 1971 Foyzur Rahman Chowdhury, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Moheshpur upazila unit ex commander Abu Taleb, poura unit ex commander Kazi Abdus Satter among others spoke. Union parishad chairmen, heroic freedom fighters, their family members and media activists remain present there.

During delivery of the Bir Nibash among the heroic freedom fighters UNO Nayan Kumar Rajbanshi said the houses for the freedom fighters were constructed as per the guidelines and instructions of the  honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as it was her election pledges to people, especially, the pride our nation freedom fighters who had fought against the autocratic Pakistani rulers in 1971.

If our brave soldiers or their successors could enjoy the houses with satisfaction, it could satisfy her.

When this correspondent had talked to a number of aged freedom fighters they had expressed their reaction having the documents of their own house Bir Nibash, could not control tears.

They prayed for the Prime Minster. They said only Sheikh Hasina could do anything and everything for the wellbeing of the aged freedom fighters as they had participated in the liberation movement as per the call of Hasina’s father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1971.
