2500 poor patients get free treatment by KAMPS

More than 2500 poor patients received free treatment and medicine at a ‘Free Medical Camp’ at Hatibandha, Shakhipur in Tangail on Friday.  Kidney Awareness Monitoring and Prevention Society (KAMPS), a voluntary healthcare giving organization, arranged the Free Medical Camp in honor of the language martyred, marking the International Mother Language Day. KAMPS has organised the event as part of its regular annual event for the last 16th consecutive years.

A team of more than 50 expert physicians and technologists, led by Kidney specialist Prof Dr MA Samad, treated the poor patients of Tangail and nearby areas. Patients received treatment in various diseases including Kidney, Heart, Liver, Guyenne, Gastro, Diabetes, ENT, medicine, skin. while more than 100 age-old poor Eye patients have been enrolled for free cataract surgery. 

Side by side medical consultancy, the necessary lab tests of the patients like Blood Test, Urine, Crete nine, Blood Sugar, USG, ECG were done and also necessary medicines were distributed among them free of costs. As part of the daylong program, a discussion meeting was held on how to prevent the kidney disease through changing lifestyle. 

MP from Tangail-8 constancy attended the ceremony as guest of honor also formally unveiled the cover of regular annual publication of KAMPS, named “Prayash-16”. Chairman of KAMPS and Chief Consultant Kidney Department Anwar Khan Modern Hospital, Dhaka, Prof Dr MA Samad presented  key note paper on the occasion. 

Executive Director of KAMPS Rezwan Salehin, Prof Dr Abdul Halim, Principal of Kumudini Womens Medical College and Hospital, Executive Director of Center for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh, Dr. AKM Fazlur Rahman, Julfiker Haider Kamal Lebu, Chairman, Shakhipur Upazila Parisad, Qazi Walid Islam, Chairman, Bashgail Upazila Parisad, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Shakhipur, Tangail, Md. Aminiur Rahman also attended the seminar among others.
