The district administration in Jhenaidah have distributed food, cash money and other relief materials among 250 persons including the saloon workers, caught jobless during the global pandemic corona virus. The relief materials were distributed at Bir Shreshtha Hamidur Rahman stadium on Thursday morning.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mozibor Rahaman distributed the items maintaining social distancing and health guidelines imposed the directorate of heath services (DGHS). Each of the family received 10 kilogarms of rice and cash for Taka 300.
Additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Selim Reza and upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) in Jhenaidah Sadar upazila SM Shahin among others remain present during the relief distribution programme.
DC Mozibor Rahaman said the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had sanctioned relief materials for the distressed people caught in the global havoc corona virus so that nobody could go hungry without food and other necessary facilities. The government has been considering the relief distribution among the affected people until and unless the lookdown marking the corona virus is over, DC said.
