The work of installing 490 CCtv cameras on the 250 kms Highway from Narayanganj’s Signboard area to Cumilla, Chattogram City Gate, involving Tk 152. 56cr is at the final stage.
To prevent theft of export item products as well as other crimes, the authorities concerned are installing CCTV cameras on the important spots to keep the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway under surveillance. This is the first project of this kind in Bangladesh.
The work of installing cameras at 490 spots on the 265 km-long highway started in June, 2021 under the project, “Highway Police Capacity Building.”
The aim of the project is to maintain law and order situation on the highway, to stop highway robbery in vehicles, identify the criminals and also to prevent road accidents. Construction firm Smart Group is performing the work.
