25 fishermen held with Jatka in Sundarbans

Members of the Dobeki Forest Station Office in the Satkhira Range of the Western Forest Department detained 25 fishermen from the Malancha River in deep Sundarbans on charges of trespassing on early Saturday.

Mmembers led by Dobeki Forest Station Officer (SO) Dewan Mizan detained the fishermen.  At that time, 2 trawlers used by the fishermen and 80 kg of Jatka Hilsa and 160 kg of different kinds of fish were seized. The detainees are identified as Zakir Hossain, 45, Mohammad Hafiz, 42, Nur Nabi Talukder, 24, Mohammad Ripon, 25, Alam Bahaddar, 50, Ripon Faraji,28, Bashar Matabbar, 50, Ahid Hawladar, 52, Monir Hossain, 42, Ibrahim, 25, Md. Aliullah, 26, Md. Alauddin, 22, Md. Abul Kalam Matbar, 35, Abbas Uddin, 33, Md.  Hasan, 25, Md. Sumon, 25, Akhter Hossain, 25, Md. Eunuch Matbar, 55, Md. Sajib, 22, Md. Monir Hawlader, 20, Md. Monir Hossain, 32, Mosharraf Mistry, 22, Md. Nur Alam, 32 Md. Sohag, 22 and Md. Abul Kalam, 55.

Satkhira Assistant Range Officer (ACF) MA Hasan confirmed the news, saying the detained fishermen had been detained for illegally entering the Sundarbans and sent to jail through a court under the Forest Act.
