25 acres of forest land recovered in Ctg

Chattogram North Forest Division and SitakundaPolicein a joint drive recovered 25 acres of forest land in Faujdarhatbit area under Kumira range.

A total of 110 paved boundary pillars and cut wires were recovered during the evacuation operation which continued from 10 am to 12.30 pm on Tuesday.  The illegal occupants quickly left the spot.  More than 400 bricks were seized from the spot.  The accused will be identified and action will be taken under the Forest Act, said the forest officer.

In this joint operation, 25 acres of encroached protected forest land was recovered demolishing the greenhouse under construction in the forest.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Divisional Forest Officer of Chattogram North Forest Division SM Kaiserled by ChattogramSadar Assistant Conservator Md Zainal Abedin.  At that time range officersMd Abdul Malek, MdSadekur Rahman, Md Amir Fasru, FCV 20 members and Sitakund Thana police with a team of 70 peoplein the southern jungle Sonaichari forest area of Faujdarhat bit cum check station were present. A company named Mir Group illegally planted pillars for a long time.  

Divisional Forest Officer SM Kaiser thanked all concerned including range officers who participated in the drive and directed all to take strict action against the illegal encroachers.
