On Friday, 231 people, including BNP’s Salahuddin Tuku, Gana Adhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur and Jamaat’s Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar,
were sent to jail and 18 others were placed on remand for different periods.
The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka passed the orders after all of them were produced before the court.
According to the court sources, the imprisoned individuals also include BNP leaders Abdus Salam, Aminul Haque, Saiful Islam, Kazi
Sayedul Alam Babu and Mahmudus Salehin.
Nur was sent to jail after the end of his five-day remand in a case filed over vandalizing and setting fire to Setu Bhaban in the capital’s Banani area on July 18.
However, others are accused in various cases filed over sabotages, including the attack on the Bangladesh Television Bhaban.
