In different labs of Chattogram, samples from 738 persons were tested, and 207 persons were found to be infected with corona virus. Of them, 88 persons belong to the city and 119 residents belong to different upazilas.
Chattogram Civil Surgeon Dr. Sheikh Fazle Rabbi gave this information on Friday morning.
He said that BITID lab tested 263 samples and found 26 persons corona positive on Thursday of which 10 persons are of city area, and 16 people are of different upazila.
Chittagong Veterinary & Animal Sciences University (CVASU) Lab tested 158 samples and found corona in 5 people of Chittagong city and 39 people of upazila.
Chittagong University Lab tested 117 samples and found 58 coronas positive. 57 people from different upazilas and 1 resident of the city.
Chittagong city Imperial Hospital Lab tested 138 samples and found corona virus in the bodies of 72 people in the city.
Cox's Bazar Medical College Lab tested 62 samples and found 7 persons corona positive in Chattogram.
Newly corona identified people in different upazilas are 119, of which 6 in Lohagara, 1 in Satkania, 1 in Anwara, 8 in Chandnaish, 1 in Patiya, 10 in Boalkhali, 10 in Rangunia, 1 in Raozan, 11 in Fatikchhari, 56 in Hathazari, 10 in Sitakunda and 3 in Mirsarai.
50 nurses of 3 hospitals in the city have been infected with corona while providing medical services to patients suffering from Covid-19 in Chattogram, of them 44 are female and 6 are male.
Most of the corona affected nurses are receiving treatment from home. 8 out of 50 people have recovered. 4 rejoined the hospital. The remaining 4 will join the hospital service in a short time. However, there is no list of nurses working in private hospitals and upazila health complexes.
According to the hospital's service superintendent, Chittagong Medical College Hospital has 35 nurses, Chittagong General Hospital has 10 nurses and Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) has 5 patients in Chittagong's Fauzdarhat.
Chittagong Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi said, “A list of nurses who are being infected with the corona virus while visiting patients in government and private hospitals in Chittagong is being prpared. The list is being sent to the Ministry of Health every day.
Civil Surgeon said, “There has been no official decision to encourage nurses working in private hospitals. However, we have discussed it about private nurses in various meetings. The proposal has been sent to the ministry through our Corona Prevention Divisional Committee.
