A gang of land grabbers has occupied a 200-year old graveyard at Maheshkhali upazila in Cox's Bazar.
The old graves are going to disappear as the land grabbers cut a large part of the graveyard to occupy it. Earlier, 25 to 30 graves had gone missing, said the locals.
People of the area have become angry in this incident. They demanded step to rescue the graveyard from the land grabbers.
The agitating people formed a human chain in front of UNO office of Moheshkahi demanding action against the land grabbers. A large number of people from Khorshapara, Fakirkhalipara and Puichhari area joined the human chain.
The people hope that the administration will take initiative in this regard.
