200 pregnant women get free treatment from Army

Army personnel have provided health check-ups and medicines to more than 200 pregnant mothers by a free medical camp at Arpara Mother and Child Welfare Centre in Shalikha upazila of Magura. 

The health camp was arranged on Tuesday on the occasion of birth centenary of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as well as the Mujib Barsho. 

The 12-field Regiment Artillery Division under the management of 55 Infantry Division of Jashore Cantonment organized the day-long medical camp.  Four army doctors and a civilian doctor provided free medicine to pregnant women after health examination. 

Major Nazmun Nahar, 12 Field Regiment Artillery of Jashore Cantonment, said that they were carrying out the operation in different areas as part of a series of activities to ensure health care for pregnant women during the Corona period under the direction of the Army Chief.  

Local civil administration and people's representatives are cooperating in this work.

Aarti Bishwas, who came to the medical camp for treatment among others, expressed her satisfaction over the free medical system.
