Roads and Highways Department (RHD) has evicted more than 200 illegal establishments on Bogura-Sherpur 2nd bypass road in Bogura town in a two-day eviction drive on Monday and Tuesday. The eviction drive was conducted by a mobile court led by State Law Officer Mahbubur Rahman Farooqi. At the time, illegal establishments on RHD’s land were abolished with bull dredgers.
Bogura RHD’s Executive Engineer Ashrafuzzaman said that local influential and miscreants had occupied a large area on the Bogura-Sherpur Road. A total of 207 illegal establishments were abolished on both sides of the road in the drive, he added.
Police have arrested a man named Asaduzzaman Rana for obstructing the eviction drive. During the raid, the police, power department and RHD officials were present.
