Two workers missing after their boat capsized in the Piain River at Jaflong in Gowainghat Upazila of Sylhet have not been found til Saturday morning.
Earlier on Thursday night, the boat sank in the Piain river. At that time, 9 out of 11 workers were rescued alive, according to the control room of Sylhet Fire Service.
Gowainghat Police Station OC Abdul Ahad said divers are continuing rescue operations but, rescue work is being hampered due to high currents in the river. Locals are also cooperating in the rescue operation.
A small sand-laden boat carrying 11 workers sank in the Piain River in Jaflong around 2pm on Thursday after being hit by an empty bulkhead.
