In Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) conducted an operation resulting in the seizure of 19,200 yaba tablets, homemade weapons, walkie-talkies, CCTV cameras, and cash amounting to 1,030,000 taka. Two individuals were arrested during the operation.
The operation was carried out over eight continuous hours from Thursday evening until late at night in Mondolpara village of Sabrang, Teknaf Upazila.
The detainees have been identified as Faiza Akter, 19, and Ayub Ali, 37.
Lieutenant Colonel Ashiqur Rahman, commanding officer of BGB-2, stated that the raid was based on intelligence reports. The team searched a house in Mondolpara, uncovering a large quantity of yaba tablets, equipment, and weapons hidden in several secret rooms.
Both the woman and the man were taken into custody at the scene.
Cases have been filed against the suspects under the Narcotics Control Act, and they have been handed over to Teknaf Police Station for further investigation.
